Tomographic resolution without singular value decomposition

چکیده
An explicit procedure is presented for computing both model and data resolution matrices within a Paige-Saunders LSQR algorithm for iterative inversion in seismic tomography. These methods are designed to avoid the need for an additional singular value decomposition of the ray-path matrix. The techniques discussed are completely general since they are based on the multiplicity of equivalent exact formulas that may be used to deene the resolution matrices. Thus, resolution matrices may also be computed for a wide variety of iterative inversion algorithms using the same ideas.

Regularization—The Compressive Sensing Approach
Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) tomography (TomoSAR) extends the synthetic aperture principle into the elevation direction for 3-D imaging. The resolution in the elevation direction depends on the size of the elevation aperture, i.e., on the spread of orbit tracks. Since the orbits of modern meterresolution spaceborne SAR systems, like TerraSAR-X, are tightly controlled, the tomographic elevatio...
متن کاملA Tomographic Approach to Multi-pass Sar Imaging
In this communication we illustrate the employment of a tomographic technique to face the problem of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging in a two-dimensional and scalar geometry and under a multi-frequency/multi-monostatic measurement configuration. In this context the different points of illumination and observation arise from different passes of the SAR sensor. We perform the analysis and ...
متن کاملRegularization Methods for Radio Tomographic Imaging
Radio Tomographic Imaging (RTI) is an emerging technology that uses received signal strength measurements to image the attenuation of objects within a wireless network area. RTI is by nature an ill-posed inverse problem, therefore, regularization techniques must be utilized to obtain accurate images. This paper discusses some common regularization techniques, including Tikhonov, truncated singu...

متن کاملTomographic Reconstruction of the Ionospheric Electron Density in term of Wavelets
Ionospheric tomography is a method to investigate the ionospheric electron density in two or three dimensions. In this study, the function-based tomographic technique has been used for regional reconstruction of a 3D tomographic model of the ionospheric electron density using the GPS measurements of the Iranian Permanent GPS Network. Two-dimensional Haar wavelets and empirical orthogonal functi...
